Stories are selected by an editor
Anyone can submit a story. An editor reads every submission and selects the stories that fit this publication. Curation keeps the work focused and the review process manageable.
We preserve each author’s voice
Stories are edited for length, clarity and readability. We preserve the author’s meaning and voice; edits are never used to promote the company or impose a house style.
Every author sees the final version and approves it before publication. Nothing appears here that its author has not signed off.
Publishing a story is not an endorsement
These are personal accounts. They describe what happened to one person and what they made of it. We publish them because they are honest and particular, not because we agree with every view the author holds or hold up their choices as advice.
Nothing here is medical, psychological or training advice. If you are starting to train, talk to a coach.
Authors keep control
Authors choose how they are named — in full, by first name, by initials, or anonymously — and can change that or ask for a story to be amended or removed at any time by emailing [email protected]. The story stays theirs. We do not sell or license it, and we do not use it in advertising.
What we will not publish
We do not publish content that identifies or endangers someone without consent, attacks a person or group, cannot be verified as the contributor’s own account, or uses a personal story as marketing copy.
Commerce is kept separate
Nothing is sold on this site. There are no advertisements and there is no tracking of you across other sites for advertising purposes. Balazs Boxing manufactures the equipment and pays for this site; product links live on the Gear page and nowhere else, and never inside someone's story.
